International Students’ Cocktail Party

Study abroad is the single most effective way of time zone changing the way we view the world.

It’s been 1 month since I finally settled down in my dorm in France. As an international student who’s in a time zone totally different with her motherland, it’s quite lonely if you don’t attend any activities to meet some new people. Meeting new people is just…… so not “me,” however, I’ll still need to stop being shy and get myself some more friends to accompany.

On September 27th, our department, Faculté d’économie, had a cocktail party to welcome all the international students who join this big family. The cocktail party was held in the noon, right after I finished my class in the morning. According to my experiences, I’ve always imagined anything way too fancy, hence, this time I decided, no heels, no fancy hair decorations and no beautiful PRADA Saffiano hand bag. OMG, for the first time of my life, I’m so glad that I made such a clever decision because it came out to be a casual party in order to meet some new friends, chatting and eating some delicate disserts.

But hold on, me? Without dressing me up? Especially it was still a special occasion!

I picked up a plain white dress from my wardrobe; it’s a sleeveless dress with big cut-out in the back. Still too dressy for attending a class, I wouldn’t want to add more obviousness to myself and sat in a classroom that was full of westerners- Being almost the only Asian was conspicuous enough. Therefore, I added a piece of light blue stripe shirt, and tied a knot to create a feature to my whole look.

As for the accessories, I was planning to have my owl ring to match the owl necklace I wore today, nevertheless, an owl on my pinky finger would distract myself from taking notes, I changed my mind to wear a simple silver ring I brought from Audaviv.

I didn’t bring my watch to France; I could only buy a new one instead.

When I was deciding which accessory to buy through the website of Audaviv, I saw this watch in their new arrival, with the good deal, and pink is my favorite colour; I just couldn’t resist putting it into my cart! After receiving it, it matches my white pearl bracelet perfectly.

To me, light pink goes so well with almost every colour just like black and white, if you want something to represent who you are and secretly express your personality, choosing an all-matching accessory for daily use will be the easiest and the best choice for you.
