On a bad day, there’s always lipstick. –Audrey Hepburn
I wouldn’t say everyone, but almost every woman does makeups for herself, even if only with a piece of lipstick. Defining myself as a “fashion blogger,” I’d never say I’m a makeup expert or makeup artist because I’m not; however, I’d love to share some of my favorite lipsticks and lip gloss that match my skin tone.
Lately, being used to live in France, I’m also starting to be more confident to put on my makeups. Putting on your lip color is just like having dessert after a fine meal; it can either ruin the harmony of your entire look, or become a wonderful final touch.
First of all, in order to introduce my lip products, it’s necessary to have a look on my skin color and nude lips. The skin tone of mine is warm beige, just a little bit darker and yellowish that shown on the camera; as for my lips, they are light salmon pink, the lip color will barely diminish on my lips.
- Victoria’ Secret Beauty Rush #Candy Baby 06G
This lip gloss was received from my BFF/neighbor who came back from the USA before I headed to France. The color of this Beauty Rush is almost transparent baby pink with some sparkles, goes safe with different types of skin color and occasions, especially good for those who want to keep a low profile, it’s modest, but still reveals that one puts some efforts on their juicy lips.
Nevertheless, it’s lip gloss after all, the texture is sticky, never apply too much to get yourself a bunch of sticky hair.
- Too Faced Melted #Peony
The first time I started to watch beauty gurus on Youtube, Melted from Too Faced always appears on my screen. It was a small pity that we don’t have it in Taiwan, but now in France, I can finally give it a try. The color reminds me of Barbie a little bit, not so exaggerate, though. It goes pretty well with some spring-colored outfits; it brings out some sweet, cute and princess atmosphere. However, I have to confess that I’m kind of disappointed when I put it on; it isn’t as “melted” as its name, compares to my other lip products, Melted is quite dry.
- DIOR Addict #So Electric 532
DIOR has been my favorite brand since little, not only their haute couture but also their watch, accessories and cosmetics. The color of this lipstick I bought recently is honey orange. Rather than orange, being too similar to Asian’s skin tone, honey orange king of enhance my lip color, makes it redder. It creates a natural red lip for me; this lipstick almost becomes my everyday lip product. It’s more modest than red lip color, won’t make you look over dressed in class, but still be able to let you wear a chic, neat and confident smile.
Additionally, in my opinion, I think this is a perfect color for a social freshman, you’ll look professional and formal, but won’t make others murmur behind” Pfff, again, here comes a chick knows nothing but dressing up.”
- Missha Syrup Painting Rouge #SPK02
Red lip resembles high fashion, elegance, chic and strong, from Marilyn Monroe to Taylor Swift, you can see red lips appear on fashion shooting, red carpet and any kind of high-class occasion; however, it is the most skillful thing when it comes to choosing your own red lip color; wrong step, will bring you to toward hell.
This lip syrup from Missha, which is Korean brand so famous in Taiwan, was given by my former roommate as my birthday gift. I need to thank her so much for wisely chose this color. Although my skin color is white, it’s still a little bit yellow, if I put on that kind of Ferrari red, it will be a disaster, it will enhance the “yellow” from my skin tone, I’ll look like an unhealthy sick girl, the magic of chromatology! The best red lip color for the skin tone like me should be the red that added with more purple or pink, cardinal red and crimson.
