And so, the elegant sakura season had finished in the city of flowers, Paris. Because of the pandemic, almost a quarter of the year 2020 had drained away. Since the quarantine started in15th March, May is already arriving at my door.
Unlike the hot and humid Taiwan, Paris in May is still cosy and the temperature usually varies between 20 and 5 degrees from the day to the night. This is also the month when Paris rains the most; no matter it is in the morning, the weather in the late afternoon would suddenly change, just like flipping the book page. Inside the house, if it’s not because I am a maniac of crossing off my to-do list every day, I would like to cuddle with my bed all day long under the natural white noise made by the raindrops and thunders.
Well, but to be honest, is there any day that is not suitable for sleeping throughout the seasons?
《Four Seasons》is the classical Baroque music that Antonio Vivaldi imitated the natural with violins. At the beginning of each concerto, he also attached a piece of a beautiful sonnet to represent every season. I remember when I was in primary school, during the after school time, the broadcasting room would always play Vivaldi’s E major, Op.1 No. 1, also known as the famous “Spring”. Whenever we heard the melody, we would know that the school was finally over for the day, it was time to go home or to the school club.

The most delightful thing during the spring is that whenever we wake up, the sunshine is already filtered through the curtain into the bedroom. To start the morning with the brisk voice of Jill Barber and Joyce Jonathan with their lively folk-rock music would be such a wonderful joy.
After the quarantine started, people are more aware of the expense of their necessities. Compared with leading an extravagant lifestyle, it is more important to establish a slow pace and have enough rest- it’s the essence of modern life. “The Bare Necessities” from《The Jungle Book》is here to remind a nostalgic atmosphere and those simple and easy life.
Spring is the season for sleepyheads. But the “Divertimento in D major, K136” composed by prodigy Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in his sixteenth; “BWV 1067: VII Badinerie” by Johann Sebastian Bach could definitely keep you awake with their spirited as well as playful strings and flute.
It’s also the time to had the wildest daydreams. Sometimes, wouldn’t it be so romantic to just listen to “A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes” from《Cinderella》and “Let’s Go Fly a Kite” from《Mary Poppins》while releasing the craziest and most captivating imaginations?
The quarantine seems to come to an end, but the virus is still continuing existing in our life. Even if we are freed from the isolation, it is still necessary to beware of every detail. However, life is still going on and the sun is still spreading the seed of hope in this beautiful springtime. Last, let the 3 Japanese utahime (the Majesty of Song), Kalafina, laud the rebirth of spring with their magnificent “Symphonia”.
